Kidd lives in Putnam, not Baldwin County

My sources tell me that E. Culver "Rusty" Kidd (I) who was elected in a special election to replace longtme democrat Bobby Parham (D-Milledgeville) does not live in the district he was elected to represent HD 141 consisting of Baldwin & a sliver of Putnam County.

Turns out he lives at a home he owns in Putnam County, not Baldwin, so my question is how long has he lived in Putnam & not Baldwin Co? Since he was elected? Or did this occur just recently?

Look for the Reapportionment Committee to make some tweaks around Putnam County to ensure he gets re-elected.

Kidd in Atlanta Hospital. Condition is Unknown at this time

E. Culver "Rusty" Kidd (I), who won a hard fought battle against up & comer Quentin Howell (D) was taken to Piedmont Hospital after he fell from his wheel chair in which he had to undergo emergency surgery. Reports are that he suffered a broken neck & also badly damaged vetebrae as well.

UPDATED: He apparently was in his Milledgeville office and someone fell on him and knocked him out of his wheel chair.The information was that he had a broken neck and has been taken to Piedmont Hospital.

Baldwin County Duo Rusty Kidd & Johnny Grant to seek re-election

Baldwin County’s two members of the Georgia General Assembly have decided to run for re-election

I will definitely be running for the senate again,” said Sen. Johnny Grant, a Republican who will be seeking a fourth term. “I am getting ready to go.”

Grant first bested Democratic challenger Faye Smith in a hotly-contested election in 2004. Since that time, however, Grant has won his last two re- election bids (2006 and 2008) fairly easily.

Grant is the first Republican since Reconstruction to represent Baldwin County in the General Assembly.

Meanwhile, workers for Rusty Kidd hit the streets this week to obtain 1,100 signatures for a petition. Kidd needs the signatures to run in the House of Representatives, which is required for any third-party candidate. Kidd once again will run as an independent.

Qualifying is set for April 26-30. It’s not immediately clear if any local candidates will run again as well.

9 Rural Democrats & 1 Independent support HR 1086

State Representatives Ellis Black (D-Valdosta), Amy A. Carter (D-Valdosta), Rick Crawford (D-Cedertown), Ron Dodson (D-Clayton County), Gerald Greene (D-Cuthbert), Bob Hanner (D-Parrot), Sistie Hudson (D-Sparta), Alan Powell (D-Hartwell), Jay Shaw (D-Lakeland), & Rusty Kidd (I-Milledgeville) voted in favor of House Resolution 1086, which is a proposed constitutional amendment that, so as to provide that no law or rule or regulation shall compel any person, employer, or health care provider to participate in any health care system and to authorize persons and employers to pay directly for lawful health care services without penalties or fines; to provide for the submission of this amendment for ratification or rejection; and for other purposes.

All are conservative democrats from Rural Georgia, except Ron Dodson, who faces a primary challenge from Shawn James, a conservative democrat for HD 75. Kidd id a independent from Baldwin County. Groups such as Georgia Conservarives in Action are pushing for the proposed constitutional amendment.

House Democratic Caucus must have gone Brain Dead when they created this mailer aimed at Rusty Kidd. I'm sure going to miss DuBose in that Chamber.

I was alert to this flyer by another conservative democrat Jay Stalnaker of Taylor County, who goes by the name of RuralDem for those who are familiar with blogs Peach Pundit & Tondees Tavern, late last night. As you can see above, it blast Rusty Kidd for using lobbyist money to hire strippers, & how he used them. And to top it all off, it has at the very bottom of the flier, it reads: Vote for Angela Moore for Secretary of State & Vote for Mary Squires for State Insurance Commissioner.
What on earth are the democratic caucus doing creating such a flier with the names of statewide candidates at the bottom in small print. It gives the impression that both Mary Squires & Angela Moore endorsed the flier.

Angela Moore might as well drop out of the race right now because she doesn't stand a chance of winning the democratic nomination as I do defeating Georga Hooks for State Senate 14. As for Mary Squires, she is the only democrat so far that has announced a run for State Insurance Commissioner, but that may all chance if State Rep. Keith Heard (D-Athens) decides to run, which is probably likely. Why she would even have her name on this flier is beyond me. And I know DuBose Porter didn't have a hand in this at all. The Democratic Party of Georgia is already running low with cash & this is just a waste of money that could have been stashed away to help fund democratic challengers in 2010 for local races. Sigh!!!!!!
