PSC Commissioner candidate Keith Moffett gets support from former & current legislators, including friend Erick Erickson of Redstate.com

Keith Moffett (D-Macon) has piked up support from around the state as he attempts to win a seat on the PSC Commission representing District 2.

Senator Hardie Davis of Augusta, Former State Representative Jed Harris, Jr. of Columbus, Senator Lester Jackson of Savannah, and State Representative Nikki Randall of Macon all are endorsing Moffett's run for PSC District 2 Commission Seat.

State Senator Robert Brown & Macon Mayor Robert Reichert endorse Keith Moffett for PSC Commissioner

Senator Robert Brown and Mayor Robert Reichert, of the City of Macon, announce their endorsement of Democratic Candidate, Keith Moffett, for Georgia Public Service Commissioner. Brown and Reichert could possibly face off in the race for Mayor of Macon in 2011.

“It’s important to have a consumer advocate on the Commission. Keith Moffett will keep you informed and make sure your interests are protected,” says Brown.

Brown says the Public Service Commission is one of the most important state agencies because it regulates utilities. Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas and Light Company currently have proposed rate increases on the floor that will be decided by the Commission in December.
Mayor Robert Reichert also says he supports Moffett, who currently serves on his staff as Director of Internal Affairs for the City of Macon. Reichert referred to Moffett as a “Renaissance Man” with incredible vision and insight to restore confidence in the people. “I’ve known Keith for years.

I’m impressed by his commitment, education, and ability to communicate with people. He has a real passion for people and would make an excellent addition to the Commission,” states Reichert.Democrat Keith Moffett’s plan for Georgia is to keep energy rates affordable, champion energy independence, and promote sustainability. All seats on the Commission are currently filled by Republicans.

Moffett to run for PSC Commission District 2 Seat

13 WMAZ-TV Macon reported yesterday that Keith Moffett, a democrat who currently works as the Director of Internal Affairs in mayor Robert Reichert's office, and a liaison to city council will run for the Georgia Public Service Commission district two seat.

Moffett says he's excited about the possibility to serve people throughout the state.


He says, "power being such a big issue, with the growing population we are going to have to face some critical choices coming up, in the upcoming years, and how we're going to service all the new people coming into Georgia."

Republican Bobby Baker currently holds the seat.

Moffett was chairman 8th Congressional District for a short while.
