PSC Commissioner candidate Keith Moffett gets support from former & current legislators, including friend Erick Erickson of Redstate.com

Keith Moffett (D-Macon) has piked up support from around the state as he attempts to win a seat on the PSC Commission representing District 2.

Senator Hardie Davis of Augusta, Former State Representative Jed Harris, Jr. of Columbus, Senator Lester Jackson of Savannah, and State Representative Nikki Randall of Macon all are endorsing Moffett's run for PSC District 2 Commission Seat.

Says Hardie Davis: Keith Moffett’s combination of education and experience is unparalleled by the opposition. His platform of fostering energy independence through employing alternate energy resources will save money and put Georgians back to work. Keith Moffett is the man for the job.

Jed Harris: Keith Moffett has the experience we need on the Georgia Public Service Commission. Keith will make decisions in the best interest of all Georgians. He will be a good steward of our tax dollars. He is mindful of the economic pressures facing Georgia's families and small businesses. “I encourage all Georgians for vote for Keith Moffett.

Moffett also has the support of Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys & Redstate Founder & Macon CityCouncilman Erick Erickson who says Moffett would be an asset to the job. Moffett & Erickson are Good friends

State Senator Robert Brown & Macon Mayor Robert Reichert endorse Keith Moffett for PSC Commissioner

Senator Robert Brown and Mayor Robert Reichert, of the City of Macon, announce their endorsement of Democratic Candidate, Keith Moffett, for Georgia Public Service Commissioner. Brown and Reichert could possibly face off in the race for Mayor of Macon in 2011.

“It’s important to have a consumer advocate on the Commission. Keith Moffett will keep you informed and make sure your interests are protected,” says Brown.

Brown says the Public Service Commission is one of the most important state agencies because it regulates utilities. Georgia Power and Atlanta Gas and Light Company currently have proposed rate increases on the floor that will be decided by the Commission in December.
Mayor Robert Reichert also says he supports Moffett, who currently serves on his staff as Director of Internal Affairs for the City of Macon. Reichert referred to Moffett as a “Renaissance Man” with incredible vision and insight to restore confidence in the people. “I’ve known Keith for years.

I’m impressed by his commitment, education, and ability to communicate with people. He has a real passion for people and would make an excellent addition to the Commission,” states Reichert.Democrat Keith Moffett’s plan for Georgia is to keep energy rates affordable, champion energy independence, and promote sustainability. All seats on the Commission are currently filled by Republicans.

Candidate Spotlight: Keith Moffett (D-Macon), PSC Commission District 2


In the race to replace Bobby Baker (R) who will not seek re-election, Keith Moffett (D-Macon) will seek to become the first democrat to serve on the PSC Board since David Burgess back in 2006.

Moffett, 38 a Centrist Democrat was the only democrat to declare his candidacy to the republican-controlled Board 7 is looking to become the second-African-American to serve on the PSC Commission

Moffett is the Director of Internal Affairs for Mayor Robert Reichert and Chief Administrative Officer with the Legislative agenda, in addition serves as the Mayor’s liaison with the Macon City Council, and is the point of contact for state and federal officials. In addition, to serving in the Mayor’s Cabinet, Mr. Moffett is an adjunct professor in the School of Business at Macon State College.

Before taking a job with the Reichert Administration, Moffett worked for the Georgia Department of Economic Development as a Regional Project Manager for the Middle Georgia area in which he developed improved and promoted economic products as well as coordinated local, state, and federal resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses.

Moffett is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy (9 yrs),aboard two Nuclear Missile Submarines & was recognized by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the top 40 influential leaders Under 40, Macon Magazine “Top 5 Under 40”, He obtained a degree in Nuclear Science Technology and Electronic Technology wile serving in the U.S. Navy.

Three Democratic candidates paid a visit down to Enigma on Saturday where a little over 300 people showed up to meet the democratic candidate for Governor Roy Barnes, PSC 2 District Commission candidate Keith Moffett & Labor Commissioner candidate Darryl Hicks. Moffett to run for PSC Commission District 2 Seat

13 WMAZ-TV Macon reported yesterday that Keith Moffett, a democrat who currently works as the Director of Internal Affairs in mayor Robert Reichert's office, and a liaison to city council will run for the Georgia Public Service Commission district two seat.

Moffett says he's excited about the possibility to serve people throughout the state.


He says, "power being such a big issue, with the growing population we are going to have to face some critical choices coming up, in the upcoming years, and how we're going to service all the new people coming into Georgia."

Republican Bobby Baker currently holds the seat.

Moffett was chairman 8th Congressional District for a short while.
