Special Election for Macon County (GA) Sheriff March 18. Richard Martin is the Choice

In March, voters will have the chance to select the next leader of the Macon County Sheriff's Department for a four-year term. From my personal perspective, the choice is clear: my friend Richard Martin is the ideal candidate for the position. This decision transcends party affiliations or personal preferences; it is about identifying a leader who can bring solutions to the challenges facing the Department. The Sheriff's Office is a complex entity, but his 30 years of experience make him uniquely qualified in my opinion to address its issues. He has compassion and a proven track record of accomplishments.

His experience working with the Houston County and Peach County Sheriff's Departments, as well as his state-certified credentials, demonstrate his experience. Richard's background is impressive, with work in the Governor's Office of Highway Safety and the Georgia Department of Corrections.

He is a multifaceted individual with a wide range of skills. His commitment to the Sheriff's Department includes returning to the basics, prioritizing essential issues, and ensuring community safety. It is time for the county to move forward and put the recent drama behind them. To hear and see how this entire drama has made my native county look is embarrassing. Richard Martin has the leadership necessary for Macon County's progress.

I encourage voters. ALL VOTERS to look beyond the distractions and elect a true leader. It is essential to approach this decision with seriousness and select a candidate who can elevate the Macon County Sheriff's Department to its full potential.

Three candidates have qualified to become the next sheriff for Macon County. All three are running in the Democratic Primary, but Cannon & Kanazawa are Republicans running as Democrats

Blash looks to unseat Lancaster for Bleckley County Sheriff

Pulaski County Sheriff Deputy Johhn Blash is making a push to become the next Sheriff of Bleckley County in November. Blash, who's 44 is from Cochran will face Incumbent Harold Lancaster, who switched parties (now running as a republican).

Blash graduated from Bleckley County, Georgia Public Safety Center and Ashford University. Christian Principles, God, Family and Community are the things that are most important to Blash, the father of two.

In addition to being Deputy for Pulaski County, Blash also worked for the city of Hawkinsville Police Dept, Sergeant for Bibb County Sheriff Dept, and worked as a correctional officer at several state prisons.

If elected, Blash says he will be transparent, develop positive relationships with the community, and work with the police dept and police chief to ensure a better and safer community.

According to his website, he states a number of citizens have expressed a distrust in Law Enforcement in Bleckley County and if elected he will restore trust and ensure all Law Enforcement have a positive relationship with the community and county.

Recently some unfortunate events occurred when some teens defaced a sign along a highway with Free Chicken spray painted across one of his big signs. Blash has endured racial slurs, defacing of signs as well as attacks on his character. I always say if you're being attacked and having lies spread about you, that means 1. You're gaining traction and 2. Your opponent is nervous about losing, so these tactics are common.

Blash will face longtime sheriff Harold Lancaster who switched parties during qualifying period this year. Chris Steverson to run for Telfair County Sheriff

Down in Telfair County, Conservative Democrat Chris Steverson (D) will challenge Incumbent Johnny Smith for the right to become the next sheriff of Telfair County.

Steverson, 43 was born, raised, and schooled in Telfair County. He spent his childhood working on the family farm, and was taught early in life the importance of hard work, keeping your promises, and helping others.  He is a member of the Telfair County Pioneer Historical Society / Telfair Arts Association and the Telfair county Chamber of Commerce.

He was previously employed with Blackwater Worldwide, also was Detective Sergeant for the Douglas Police Department, Dyncorp International as a international Polics Advisor & Georgia Secretary of State Office-Investigations. He is a 1990 graduate of ABAC.

Steverson would bring a wealth of experience, to the office of sheriff for Telfair County. Voters should give this candidate a serious look when they go to the polls in July in addition to his international experience working for companies such as Dyncorp International.
