John Linder, republican congressman from Duluth annouced he is stepping down from congress at the end of the year. The announcement will sure set off a round of candidates wtih aspirations for higher office to seek the 7th congressional seat.
And Nathan Deal will step down as well to campaigh full time for governor. Let's be real here, Deal stepped down at this time to avoid the Ethics Committee findings on whether he did any wrongdoing involving state contracts for one of his companies. This way he avoids facing charges from the house ethics committee.
