Patti Dozier of the Thomasville Times Enterprise writes this: Republican, Democrat and Libertarian candidates for Georgia governor agree on one thing: State government needs to change.
“We’ve got to get our people back to work,” said DuBose Porter, Democrat gubernatorial candidate and Dublin newspaperman.
Porter, Republican candidate Karen Handel, and John Monds, Libertarian candidate, addressed a crowd of about 150 at a Tuesday citizens meeting sponsored by the Times-Enterprise at Thomasville Municipal Auditorium. Congressional candidate Mike Keown also delivered his views.
Georgians must work together to bring about economic development, said Porter, Georgia House of Representatives minority whip.
Georgia has more than $1 billion in uncollected sales tax, he said, adding that the tax should be collected locally.
