The Racial...No Political Profiling of Moderate & Conservative Democrats by the Liberal Left

If you're a moderate or conservative democrat nowadays, be prepared to be racially, no wait, politically profiled by the left wing democratic leadership. One thing I've noticed over the last few years, especially this year is how paranoid democrats have become when a candidate describe him or herself as a Bluedog or Conservative Democrat

Why?

The party has seen a mass exodus of Conservative leaning Democrats from its ranks who switched to the Republican Party. Many left because of Ideological difference with the party or because of changes within his/her district or political aspirations. There was a time when the democratic party as open to all points of view, now there's not that much diversity of opinion in the party. If you are a moderate or conservative democratic male or female nowadays, get ready to be profiled! If you have two strikes against you from the so-called "Big Tent Party" who supposed to accept other people's opinions and embracing their differences.

Every candidate that runs for office is not cut from the same cloth. In today's democratic party if you a self-described moderate or conservative, it means that you're a republican. A decade ago, that wasn't the case. But with Redistricting & Gerrymandering, the party is now made up of majority African-Americans & Liberal Caucasians who represent either urban areas or a few blocks in a community. Because the Republican Party seek to get rid of GOPers who aren't conservative enough doesn't mean the democrats should seek to get rid or prevent candidates for office who aren't liberal enough.

Why liberals have such disdain for Moderate & Conservative Democrats? Think about it for a minute.

Like it or not, but there are plenty of Black Conservative Democrats coming up through the ranks on the local level who's eyeing a run for the State Legislature in the future. One notion I want to put to rest is that ALL AFRICAN-AMERICANS ARE NOT BIG GOVERNMENT LIBERALS!!!! Many are fiscally conservative, socially conservative who believe in self-help & personal responsibility. Sadly though today's democratic party cannot accept the fact that any African-American would call him or herself a Conservative Democrat. Look at Artur Davis, former Alabama Democrat. The Black Democratic establishment over there was so upset with him for not supporting the president's initiatives that they voted for the challenger Ron Sparks.

In today's democratic party if you're pro-life, pro-gun, anti-abortion...even  religious, you're looked upon as a closet republican.

Look at John Barrow for example...he's not a party loyalist & he votes with republicans most of the time. He voted against the Healthcare Legislation among things. Will democrats here put those things aside & hold their noses & support Barrow? Or will they just vote for President Obama & skip the Barrow-Anderson Congressional Race because Barrow is too conservative for their own taste? We'll see on that one.

If the Democratic Party is truly the Big Tent Party, they need to stop profiling democrats based on Ideology & in certain cases, Race!

Conservative Values Are Apart of the Lives of Black Americans

The truth is that conservative values and goals have been deeply embedded in African-American life for generations. The problem that most white Americans never recognized this. Instead they created a myth of black liberalism. That myth largely grew out of the New Deal years when blacks abandoned their traditional Republican loyalties and became a key cog in the liberal-labor-ethnic coalition built by FDR and the Democrats.


For the next century blacks were staunch Democratic devotees. Soon the public became accustomed to regarding blacks as the biggest advocates of federal spending on welfare, education, jobs and social programs. During the late 1960s, mass civil-rights demonstrations, protests, black-power takeovers and the urban uprisings turned the myth of black liberalism into the myth of black radicalism. Many Americans now firmly believe that blacks were permanent rebels out to subvert the nation's values.

But these myths do not square with the fact that African-Americans are among America's oldest native sons and daughters. They have been totally shaped by American ideals. Going back to the 19th century, black leaders like Booker T. Washington talked as much about self-help, family values, crime and patriotism as they did about segregation and poverty.

In this century, black churches, social organizations, political and economic associations have generally advocated conservative programs of self-help and legal protest. If not for the great stumbling blocks of racism and economic exclusion, blacks would have gladly trodden the same path to assimilation as non-black groups.

Critics miss the mark when they assume that the likes of Judge Clarence Thomas and other latter-day black conservatives owe their political existence to Republican Party patronage.

While the Republicans certainly are happy to cultivate and promote them, they did not create them. More accurately, they reflect the prospering of the black middle class during the past three decades

Organizations like the Urban League understand this and have shifted with the changing economic and political winds. They have hit hard on the themes of self-help, economic independence and family values. Look the bottom line is that black America must do much of the work itself, for it is our future we must save.''


Here are The 10 basic Conservative Principles:

-Government money' does not belong to government. It belongs to the taxpayers who worked hard for it, and who had funds deleted from their paychecks even before they got to see them.

-The government that governs best governs LEAST.

-Government normally does not solve problems. People do. Big government usually IS the problem.

-Oppressive large governments are responsible for more murders of citizens than all of the wars in history.

-The private sector is where the juice of society lies. There you will find ingenuity, creativity, and the creation of wealth--provided government gets out of the way.

-Government social programs reward pathological dependency. True adults, unless hindered by debilitating physical impairment, seek independent living as free persons who are not stuck in an infantile dependency on the government nanny.

-The one role of government mandated by the U.S. Constitution is to provide for the national defense.

-Human rights are not granted by government. They are inherent and automatic. We are 'endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights.' Government can only choose to recognize and protect those inherent rights.

-The right to self-defense, as encapsulated in the 2nd Amendment, is the key to all of the other rights described in the Bill of Rights. Free speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, and a free press are secured and kept secure by an armed citizenry.

-Our form of government is NOT a 'pure democracy' or 'majority rule.' In a Constitutional Republic such as ours, the will of the majority is tempered and limited by the rights of the minority, which are always intact and unalienable regardless of the 'will of the majority.'

Conservative Democrats: The New Movement in Georgia?

The mysterious smoke screen between Conservatives and Liberals is dissipating rapidly and both sides seem to be afraid of what will be revealed once the smoke is gone. Can a Democrat have conservative ideals? In the minds of some strong liberals, this just can't be possible. A new breed of conservative Democrats is on the horizon and I am proud to be amongst them. Many people are afraid of the unknown and feel threaten by what they don't understand, without even making an effort to confront their fears. Is it possible that a democratic candidate can be Pro-Life; a supporter of the Constitutional Amendment regarding the right to bear arms; a non-supporter of same-sex marriages/civil unions; a defender of those whom crimes are perpetrated against because of their sexual orientation; and an advocate for an employee's right to work and challenge unfair treatment on their jobs? I think that it is possible! However, those who are willing to take this kind of a stand are often ridiculed and are not too popular amongst extreme partisan supporters from both sides of the aisle.

If we all just stop for one minute and examine the sheer strength of such candidates, we would probably be amazed at the possibilities. In my opinion, most of those who have switched from being long-time Democratic Party supporters to becoming a Republican did so because their former party's message did not align with their beliefs. I would even venture to say that the beliefs of those who switched have not changed all that much, but the doctrine of the Democratic Party has changed significantly. This new breed of Conservative Democrats supports the ideals of people in general. This bold new approach can and will prove to be successful.

During my candidacy for Governor of Georgia, I learned several important things. One of the most important things that I learned was that Democrats and Republicans are from the same planet and we agree on more things than we disagree on. On my journey, I met concerned people who were democrats, republicans, libertarians and those who supported the Tea Party Movement. They were all tired of business as usual, and wanted a candidate who would do the right thing. However, most were just not willing and ready to accept the notion that there could be a candidate who would listen to the concerns of all the parties and who would work in an united effort to seriously address those concerns. In a Utopian world, the business as usual candidate would be a thing of the past. I would even go a step further and say that in our state, a business as usual candidate can still be a thing of the past, if we, the people, accept nothing less.

I am mindful of the fact that any time one voices his or her opinion and that opinion doesn't align with the status quo, massive efforts are often made to dilute the message and the destroy the messenger. There will be others who will do their level best to start a fire and put up a more dense smoke screen. One thing that Georgians can be reassured of though is the fact that this new Conservative Democrat Movement has a consistent message and an army of messengers who are not afraid to go into battle on behalf of the hardworking people of this great State of Georgia. I don't know what my political future holds, but from my past experiences I do know two things, and they are I finish what I start, regardless of the obstacles; and if I do decide to seek another political office, I will gladly carry the Conservative Democratic Banner. From day one, I'll remove that smoke screen and the people will be clear on where I stand.

African American Conservatives & why Georgia Democratic Party needs more of them

Newsflash: All Black Democrats do not think alike. All are not liberal, all do not rely & live off the government & all do not play the victim card & do not march to the drumbeat of the likes of Al Sharpton & Jesse Jackson & other "so called" leaders of the Black Community.

I just wanted to make that known!

Now what I want to talk about is the outlook of the Ga Democratic Party. African Americans now dominate the party & it would be wise for the party to begin to court conservative or moderately conservative democrats into the party. I know the party, just like everywhere in the US need to court conservative whites who have deserted the party over a span of 30+ years in order to have a chance of winning elections, but in the meantime began courting black conservatives into the party.

One thing democrats have to realize & that is the black community is fairly conservative. Black conservatism emphasizes traditionalism, strong patriotism, capitalism, free markets, and opposition to abortion and gay marriage in the context of the black Church. Its hard for some to believe that since the black community has generally fallen to the left of the right-wing conservative movement, and has predominantly favored itself on the side of liberalism and civil rights progressives.

Right now, all of the black conservatives are in the Georgia GOP.

I have often wondered why the black conservative view has such poor resonance in the Black communities? But I believe that a black conservative democrat can win in Georgia & win in districts that are not gerrymandered, such as the case when Floyd Griffin, then a centrist be came the first African-American to win a majority white senate district since reconstruction back in 1992 or Michael Thurmond won his Athens based house district back in 1986 which was majority white.

Now say for example, Ross Tolleson runs for congress in 2012, you have a choice between a white progressive & a black conservative running in the democratic primary. Who would you support in that race, given the conservative nature of Tolleson's district which is conservative? You can make the same case for a white conservative democrat against a white progressive or a black progressive & a white conservative. It either case, Im siding with the conservative candidate. Why? Its all about who can appeal to the masses, & how their message & background best fits that district.

In the state, Black GOPers all have fared poorly when it time to cast ballots at the polls during the primary, for example, Melvin Everson who was by far the better candidate to Mark Butler, but only got 30% during the primary.

If I were in a positon of power with the State Dems, Id be going to some of these black republicans & persuade them to run as conservative democrats. Michael Murphy, moderate republican operative ran against David Scott as a conservative democrat for the 13th Congressional District back in 2008, you had another in Cory Ruth, who ran in the GOP primary in the 4th Congressional District also back in 2008.

There are also black democrats serving on the local level whether its County Manager, Commissioner, City Council, Law Enforcement, etc. With its base of support now consisting close to 60% African American, now is the time to change course & begin to scope out these individuals. That job will be left up to Miguel Camacho, Mike Berlon & RJ Hadley
