Orcon Products, a company that manufactures seaming tape for the aerospace and carpet industries, recently announced they will locate a manufacturing facility in Douglas, bringing 50 jobs to the community. The company expects to begin hiring by the end of next month and to be ready for production by March of this year.
According to a press release from the Georgia Department of Economic Development (GDEcD), the company based out of Union City, California will be located in the Dave Carter building in the Southwest Industrial Park, a 45,000 square foot facility and produce carpet seaming tape.
“It is always a great feeling to bring new jobs to Coffee County and Georgia,” said JoAnne Lewis, Executive Director of the Douglas-Coffee County Economic Development Authority (EDA). “With more than 40 years of success, Orcon is a great example of entrepreneurship.
