How is it that Charles Ashfield (R) was able to run for HD 124, while still on the State's Payroll?

Charles Ashfield, republican from Baldwin Co qualified to run against incumbent Sistie Hudson (D-Sparta) for HD 124 seat. He lives right on the Baldwin/Putnam Co. line, so he barely lives inside HD 124.

BUT IS HE ELIGIBLE?

He's something that went largely unnoticed: He qualified on the 28th of April & then went back to work on the 29, as doorkeeper of the State Senate. How is it possible to qualify to run for office while still working for the state government in which he was still receiving payments from the state government as a doodrkeeper for the state senate? Under the rules and the code section, you are disqualified if you receive "emoluments" from the State or Federal Government, emoluments meaning: Payment for work done. Unless something was changed, this guy maybe ineliglble to run for HD 124.

GENERAL DISQUALIFICATIONS FOR RUNNING FOR ELECTED OFFICE

NOW READ THIS PARAGRAPH:

B)MUST NOT BE HOLDING ANY CIVIL APPOINTMENT OR OFFICE HAVING AN EMOLUMENT ANNEXED
there to under the United States, GEORGIA, or any other state.

c) Must not be elected by the General Assembly or appointed by the Governor to any
office or appointment having any emolument annexed thereto during the time for
which such person is elected, unless he or she first resigns the seat. During the term for which elected, a Representative cannot be appointed to any civil office which has been created during such term.

Ga. Constiution

So Mr Ashfield has received EMOLUMENT, meaning payments from the state government, working in the legislature (State Senate) as a doorkeeper. He qualified to run for HD 124 one day & then went back to work as a state government employee the next day! How is this possible.

So is Mr. Ashfield eligible?
