My hope is next year that the State Democratic Party Convention will be held otuside of Atlanta as we gear up for Statewide & mid-term elections. A couple of locations would be perfect for a convention:(1) Perry, at the National Fairgrounds at Reaves Arena
(2) Albany, at the Albany Civic Center
(3) Columbus, at the Columbus Civic Center
(4) Macon, at the Macon Centreplex
(5) Americus, on the campus of Georgia Southwestern State at the Storm Dome
(6) Macon, at Mercer Univerity's University Center Arena.
Just for once, I would like to see that thing held outside of Metro Atlanta

We could add the UGA at Tifton Campus.
For a convention to be successful, it needs to be in a location that has a wide variety of things to offer. Atlanta has all those things, but so does Savannah. You also have an active party there that could host. You would also get a lot of people who would be willing to make the journey for a weekend in Savannah more than one in Tifton.
Perry has those things as well, plus with neighboring Warner Robins to the norht, it has alot to offer, plus a strong, active Houston Co. Democratic Party. Columbus is great also, as well as Albany. Tifton would make a strong statrment that the democrats are serious about reaching put to other democrats in the state, who are more conservative that their urban counterparts
What about Athens?!?! Clarke county is consistently blue, and Athens is the most liberal city in Georgia outside Atlanta, perhaps period! The UGA Colliseum would be perfect!
