Jane Kidd for U.S. Senate?
There is an effort to draft Democratic Party of Georgia Chairwoman Jane Kidd for the U.S. Senate in 2010. Here is the website: http://www.draftjanekidd.com/ . Isakson do not need to go unchallenged in 2010. Some say he is very popular here in Georgia. But he acts & votes just like his cohort Saxby Chambliss. But the question is will someone challenge Isakson from the right? Isakson has always been a moderate until he got elected to the U.S. Senate & that's when he started to pander to the base to avoid a primary fight. It's still a long way off, but if Isakson slips up & does something that ticks off his base, you will see someone challenge him. There are alot of ambitious republicans who have aspirations for higer office. But back to Kidd, she never crossed my mind as far as the U.S. Senate goes. A moderate to conservative democrat would be the type of candidate that could knock off Isakson. I don't what her views are, but no liberal will not win statewide here in Georgia. A Thurbert Baker, Michael Meyer von Bremen type would be a great choice for the democrats. Just my opinion. But this may not be a bad idea. I expect once the 2010 elections are over there will be someone challenging her for the right to lead the Demcoratic Party of Georgia & if that's the case, then she should seriously look at the race.
